Expertise: Mountain Hydrology, Remote Sensing, Climate Risk Assessment & Machine Learning
Dr. Saket Dubey is a rising expert in the fields of mountain hydrology, hydroclimatology, remote sensing, and disaster risk assessment, with research that directly addresses the vulnerabilities of the Himalayan region and the impact of climate change.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Dr. Dubey has built a strong interdisciplinary background through global research collaborations. His postdoctoral work at the University of Dayton, USA, under a NASA-funded project, focused on high-altitude glacial hazard prediction and water security.
He holds a Ph.D. in Hydroclimatology from IIT Indore, where his thesis introduced novel algorithms for mapping mass movement trajectories, glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) hazards, and downstream impact models across the Indian Himalayas. His academic foundation also includes a Master’s in Water Resource Development from NIT Raipur.
With over a dozen research publications in high-impact journals and extensive conference participation, Dr. Dubey's work combines machine learning, satellite remote sensing, and data-driven climate modelling—making him a vital contributor to India’s resilience planning and environmental sustainability.
