Dr. M.P. Poonia is a veteran in technical education and policy with over 37 years of experience.
Armed with a Ph.D. and M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from IIT Delhi, he has shepherded institutions like NITTTR Chandigarh as Director and led AICTE as Vice-Chairman (2017–2023), championing curriculum reform, digital learning, green tech, and inclusivity.
He’s an author of 90+ journal papers, 10 books, and lab manuals, and has guided numerous M.Tech and Ph.D. candidates.
His leadership has earned national recognition—including the Bharat Mata Award and a National Award for empowering persons with disabilities.

Served as Vice-Chairman of AICTE (2017–2023), steering outcome-based curricula, induction programs, and digital initiatives.
Directed NITTTR Chandigarh (2012–2017), advancing capacity building and inclusive education quality.
Joined BFGI Bhatinda as Campus Director in 2024—bringing vision and institutional turnaround expertise.
Authored 90+ papers, 10 books, and lab manuals; supervised M.Tech and Ph.D. research projects.
