Dr. Gautam Kumar is a forward-focused academic and researcher specializing in image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, and robotics.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at NIT Delhi, where he leads the Visual Computing and Robotics Lab—a hub for cutting-edge research in visual surveillance, biometric security, and healthcare technologies.

Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from NIT Rourkela, and an M.Tech from the Central University of South Bihar. His contributions reflect a blend of technical depth and practical innovation, notably earning 2nd place in ISRO’s national-level Innovative Idea and Design competition.

An active mentor and academic guide, Dr. Kumar is involved in supervising Ph.D., M.Tech, and B.Tech research, while also contributing as a reviewer for leading journals in IEEE and ACM communities.
